London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine
SMC training
We have worked with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine for 2 years to create training animations to assist health workers understand how to deliver SMC (Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention) to help protect children against Malaria during the rainy season. A total of 85million treatments were administered in 2019 in 13 countries with an estimated 22million children reached.
The latest updates to the animations include showing data collection through an app and bespoke animations for Senegal and Ghana to best illustrate the process in those countries.
COVID-19 guidelines such as social distancing, hand washing and wearing face coverings were also depicted.
The National Malaria Programmes of Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Sengal, The Gambia and Togo were consulted throughout the production and English, French, Portuguese and Hausa versions of the animation were developed.
